It has been a long time since I have been inspired or taken by photographs. Like described in the text above Viviane Sassen employs color and bold compositions that caught me instantly. We are used to see photographs highlighting the need in Africa but these do not reflect that but rather let you admire the beauty of contrast and for me they reflect raw Africa, the country of voodoo magic, tribes, old stories, kind of madness that haunts you, the mystery and magic of raw Africa.
